Cynthia Ikponmwenosa Morgan, the popular Nigerian born songwriter and singer will be hitting the screens soon.
During her Instagram Live chat with the former Miss Globe Nigeria, Sandra Ogbebor (MsVania7), she explained the mystery behind the nosedive of her promising music career and why she ‘disappeared’ after the release of her single, “Simatiniya.” in 2015.
Fans all over the country have had one thing or the other to say about her story.
Cynthia Morgan well, hope she’s get back on her feet and stronger. Hopefully there’s an entertainment lawyer out there that can help her look into whatever the drama is with her record label. Showbusiness like Life can be cutthroat. #Peace #love #staystrong
don’t think some things are right. She literally kept quiet for this long. wow!… Cynthia Morgan was a praaaaaablem! .. you had a talent like that and instead of growing it and owning it, you threw it away and decided to ruin it… for what really?
The following are the updates after her live chat yesterday:
- A GoFundMe account will be opened to help Cynthia Morgan; now known as Madrida to get back on her feet financially.
- Funds from the account will be used to get her an accommodation in Lagos.
- She won’t be signed under any label anymore, as she is now open to partnership.
Since the chat, Cynthia Morgan has been the No. 1 trending topic on Twitter NG. The “German Juice” songstress explained that joining North Side INC Label at the time she did was the biggest mistake her career suffered from. It led to the loss of her stagename, her VEVO account, royalties, Instagram account, and had led her down the lane of depression.
Mr P of the defunct PSquare group also made comments as he confirmed the woes that the music label, owned by his brother- Jude ‘Engees’ okoye, which he was once signed under, had actually operated at the detriment of artists.
Mr P stated that in 2017 during the period of the public fallout of the Psquare group, he tried to take Morgan with him but all move proved abortive.
He tweeted that,
“And some people thought i was stupid when I made the right decision [to leave Paul and Jude]. My dear C Morgan! it’s never to late to be what you might have been. God will surely see you through and carry you through the storm. Keep believing.
“My dear C Morgan, The decision I made 3yrs ago was never about the [fame], money or power! It was for my FREEDOM! Sad you rejected the contract I gave u. Just because they made you see me like the bad egg. I pray you understand that God has a purpose for everything. Never give up.
“The Truth shall prevail. God will surely see you through C Morgan… Gnight.”
