Doctors on strike over neglected demands by the Federal Government!

The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has announced its intention to begin a nationwide strike next Monday, on the 15th of June 2020.

This announcement was made by the National President, Dr Aliyu Sokomba, in an official circular to members.

He stated that the declaration of the strike action was a reaction to the federal government’s ignorance of the association’s earlier placed demand. He said:

The body found it necessary to take this decision following the inability of the government to meet our demands upon the 14 days ultimatum duly given to the Federal Government for indefinite strike action.”

The strike action starting on the 15th of june will be total and indefinite and the National President of the association; Dr Aliyu Sokomba has advised Nigerians to begin to sort alternative arrangement for their healthcare needs as none of the Residents Doctors will provide services of any kind, be it emergency, care at COVID-19 isolation.

With Doctors going on strike, Nigerians are urged to brace up for such a time as this.
