The headquarter of the Nigerian Postal Service in Abuja was hit by an early morning fire today, the 20th may, 2020.
At the early hours of the morning, the fire outbreak at Area 10, Garki, in Abuja had attracted the attention and service of the Fire Service officials and a body of large crowd.
Up until now, the cause of the outbreak is still unknown as it was anonymously disclosed that the fire had started at about 8:40 a.m.
Eyewitnesses have confirmed that the fire started during the early hours of the day and that they had to alert the security guards of the incident when hey noticed the smoke at the back of the building.
Report on the loss incurred with the NIPOST headquarter on fire
Mr Abebayo Adewusi, the Post Master General/CEO of the Nigerian Postal service NIPOST have disclosed that there is no cause for alarm over NIPOST headquarter on fire.
He stated that no damage to vital document was recorded as the incident only affected the office of staff posting under the personnel unit.
