Chelsea are now favorites to land RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner after he reportedly agreed a deal in principle.

Liverpool were clear favorites to land Werner until yesterday when they confirmed pulling out of the race to sign him due to “financial reasons”. Chelsea have presented Werner a package of good money, but also his position at the team and have now activated his £53m release clause.
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard also was busy with a phone call conversation with the German who was at first adamant to join the reds until he confirmed they’ve pulled out, also Lampard offered him a huge role to play as he rebuilds the London side.
Verified sources have reported that its already a done deal and the announcement is just a matter of when its mutually beneficial to all parties involved in the deal.
Timo Werner has 31 goals and supplied 12 assists in 40 games across all competitions.
